AE Students Curriculum Updates:
Over the last month I’ve received quite a few questions about
the effects of the department’s move to a common core of three
courses replacing AE210, CivE-251, CivE-252 and EGeol-220. It’s
taken me longer to work through the ramifications than I’d originally
thought, for which I apologize to those I’d told this clarification
would be issued sooner.
What you’ll find enclosed are two documents.
- AE Curriculum Change Notes 20060913 – details all the changes
- Two curriculum sheets for your year that shows the AE-only courses
required to graduate, one for HVAC and one for Structural Concentration
students.
The principals I used in working through this change were:
- Any course you’ve already taken should still count
- The total number of credits to graduate should not increase
- Minimize the change from the prior curriculum
