What is the URL of the CAD LAB page?
What hardware is available in the
CAD LAB?
There are 50 computers and three laserjet printers.
Where is the printing paper ?
Printer usage is free for the users of the lab; however you must
bring your own paper.
What are the hours of operation?
The Lab is always open 7/24 all year. we will make an announcement if the lab is closed.
How do I use my card for entrance?
Place your card near the card reader at the left side of the
main entrance. You will hear a beep informing you that
you are able to open the door. If you hear the beep and you are
not able to open the door, it may be a problem with your card. Visit the
Dragon
Card Office to test your card. If you are issued a new card, you must send an email to
cadlab@drexel.edu with your fist name, last name, number of the card and the subject CAD LAB ACTIVATION.
How do I login to the computers?
Login to the computers with your Drexel domain account (username and
password). If you are unable to login, contact the IRT helpdesk at 215-895-2020.
How do I save and open files from the
dunx1 server ?
--First, create your dunx1 account by logging in to
http://accounts.drexel.edu and selecting the
Add Account button. The dunx1 account provides file storage and personal web hosting space.
--The Dunx1 drive is mapped to X:\ on these computers, so that when you are logged in to the computer, you can use X: as the Save location. Of course, you then can also Open files from X:\.
--To save and retrieve files from Dunx1 with a file transfer method, Dunx1 supports SFTP. You can use the SSH File Transfer Client, available from the IRT software download site, to view the contents of your directories on the server and to download and upload files. Specific instructions can be found in

--USB flash drives are also supported on these computers. Make sure your flash drives are virus scanned periodically Also, you should disable the AutoRun feature on the USB drive to prevent tranferring compromised files to and from the lab computers.
