This
year’s Engineer of the Year is Dr. Robert M. Koerner ’56,
’63. Dr. Koerner is the H.L. Bowman Professor of Civil, Architectural
and Environmental Engineering and Director of the Geosynthetic Research
Institute. He holds his B.S. and M.S. in civil engineering from Drexel
with a Ph.D. in geotechnical engineering from Duke University. Koerner
is also firmly established as an international leader in the field of
geosynthetics. His contributions to engineering research and to Drexel
University are innumerable. It is for this reason the College of Engineering
looks forward to honoring Dr. Koerner as the Engineer of the Year during
this year’s National Engineers Week.
Dr.
Koerner will receive the award during the annual College of Engineering
Engineer of the Year and Alumni Circle of Distinction Awards Banquet.
