Project
Description:
The New Mann Music Center, located in Fairmount Park on 52nd & Parkside
Avenue remains as the only outdorr cultural arts venue in Philadelphia
and the summer house for the Philadelphia pops. C&C Engineers is
proposing to replace the current Mann Center with a new center which
efficiently utilizes 33 acres of land. The project will consist of an
18,238 Ft2 Performance Building attached to the shell (stage), and a
64, 928 ft2 Entrance Building containing offices, retail spaces, and
dining alternatives. Structurally, both buildings will be designed using
a flate plate concrete system with the largest span being 30' x30'.
The new design provides a better acoustical experience for all the visitors
and an outstanding architectural canopy in Fairmount Park. C&C Engineers
improved the overall accessibility to the facility's site and enhanced
the experience of the performers and staff. All enclosed areas will
be climate controlled by three, 40 ton HVAC units. Overall, C&C
Engineers estimated that the New Mann Music Center budget will be $19,977,430.
