Institutions of Undergraduate Study M.S. Bogazici University (2002), Istanbul, Turkey Research InterestInvestigating innovative technique for remediation of granular soils against liquefaction. Liquefaction is responsible for vast damage in some earthquakes. The technique involves slow injection of colloidal silica stabilizer into soil. The development of the technique includes multi-scale modeling including bench scale strength tests, delivery of the stabilizer to longer distance by 1-D column tests, centrifuge testing, some field tests and finally large size laboratory 3-D test. 3-D large size test is the main interest of my research. It also includes computer simulation of the grout injection. The result of these tests and computer simulations will contribute the optimized application of this technique on site.
